I'm not exactly certain of the date of manufacture, but My grandparents only took 1 vacation to Germany in '57 and Grandma was not about to pay any duty on this thing, so while it was Brand new never played, she took Nail polish remover and took off the gold leaf lettering. My grandfather played it every few days over the summer at his little resort, until he retired in 1974. I've had it ever since, and I don't play well or very much.
